How to use these sheets
Every sheet is made fresh when you open it, so two children at the same table can have different questions, and you can print a new one tomorrow. Turn the answer key on to print a checking page for the adult, or off to hand out copies to a class.
- Color by number: solve the six questions, then color every square showing each answer. A turkey or a pumpkin appears.
- Answer maze: each answer points to the next square, from START to FINISH. A wrong turn shows up straight away.
- Riddle puzzle: the answers spell out the punchline to a Thanksgiving joke.
- Bingo: four different cards and a caller's list, so the whole family can play while dinner cooks.
- Flashcards and practice worksheets for a quieter fifteen minutes.
A Thanksgiving math hour that kids will actually enjoy
Start with bingo, because everyone can play at once and the caller can be the youngest reader. Follow it with a color-by-number sheet at each child's level, then finish with the riddle so there is a joke to share at dinner. Keep it to an hour, and stop while it is still fun.
Cooking is full of real math too. Ask an older child to double a recipe or work out how much each person gets if the pie is cut into eight slices and three are already gone. Ask a younger one to count plates, forks and chairs and check they match.
Which grade band to choose
Pick the band your child can do mostly without help. A holiday sheet is a time for confidence, not a test. If every answer comes easily, try the next band up; if they are stuck on most questions, step down one. Each topic page also has a short explanation and a practice set that checks answers as you go.
