What 5-a-day is

Five short math questions a day, each from a different topic, at the level you choose. It takes about ten minutes. Because the questions mix topics that were learned weeks or months ago, they keep old skills from fading, which is exactly what a test at the end of the year asks for.

Everyone on the same level gets the same five questions on the same day, so a class or a family can do them together and compare answers. The set changes at midnight (UTC).

How to use it

  • Pick the level your child can do mostly on their own. If all five are easy for a week, move up a level.
  • Answer online and each answer is checked straight away, with a hint after a first miss and the worked steps after a second.
  • Or print today's five, or a whole week at once, with an answer key on a separate page.
  • Keep a tally of how many out of five each day. The score matters less than the habit.

For teachers

Put the five on the board as a starter while the register is taken, or print a week of sets for homework. Each question comes from a real skill in the Eurekami skill map, from early number up to algebra, trigonometry and calculus at the top level.
