I do: model it · 10 min

- Example: Choose the verb that matches the time in the sentence. Next week we ___ a picnic.
- Step 1: The verb changes to show when something happens.
- Step 2: It has not happened yet, so we use 'will' + verb.
- Step 3: Put it back into the sentence and read it aloud: "Next week we will have a picnic."
- Step 4: So the answer is: will have
- Answer: will have
- Pause after each step and ask a student to say what comes next.
We do: guided practice · 10 min
- Do these together. Students try each step on whiteboards before you reveal it.
